HERE Technologies

HERE Technologies (officially trading as HERE) is a company that provides mapping and location data and related services to individuals and companies. The company is majority-owned by a consortium of German automotive companies like  Audi, BMW, and Daimler, while other companies also own minority stakes. The roots of HERE Technologies date back to the United States-based Navteq in 1985, which Finland-based Nokia acquired in 2007. They are nowadays operating in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

HERE captures location content such as road networks, buildings, parks, and real-time traffic patterns, and sells or licenses that mapping content, to map-related navigation and location services like Alpine, Garmin, BMW, Oracle, and Amazon.com.

In addition to the online and offline mapping platforms, Here provide platform services to smartphones as well. The Netherlands-based company offers location services through its own Here applications and GIS and government clients and other providers, such as Bing, Facebook, and Yahoo! Maps.

HERE maps covering about 200 countries around the world and also offer voice-guided navigation provided in 94 countries. Try HERE map, and you may find live traffic information in 33 countries and has indoor maps available for about 49,000 unique buildings in 45 countries.
